Temporary or Permanent Equipment Considerations

Toilet risers shown in the pictures are a more temporary short term solution that can be removed when no longer needed.

Temporary conditions may require options that can be removed.

Permanent conditions may require remodeling or changing the physical environment. A more permanent solution for altering toilet height is to purchase and install a higher replacement toilet.

Cost

Toilet risers are the  least expensive option generally around ($20), Place/roll over commodes are around ($40), followed by the most expensive option of replacing your toilet.

Supports Needed (caregiver)

Individuals may need assistance with moving on and off toilet but toilet risers may help with increasing independence.

Aesthetics

Each person can choose the device that meets their individual needs.

Contraindications for Device Use
