There are temporary or more permanent models of wall mount safety bars that available. There are also U bars (shown in the picture) that can clamp onto cast iron tubs.
Permanent Considerations
When designing for new construction it is very important to remember that you will need backer studs to properly support the weight of safety bar installation. However, if adding to existing construction, be aware that safety bars come in 16 and 32 inch lengths which will fit standard existing construction. Please consult with a professional to assist with proper installation of any devices.

Contraindications for device use
These U bars can not be affixed to fiberglass tub and safely support an individual. The seal never get’s tight enough to provide proper stability. Professional installation may be required.
