Color

The colors you choose for items, and environments in your home can be important factors to consider if you, or a person you care for has trouble with vision. Here are some tips for designing or modifying your home to make it easier for those with low vision.

  • Bright contrasting colors are generally the easiest to see
  • In general, as we age, the contrast between colors becomes less noticeable. Use highly contrasting colors to best identify objects.
  • Contrasting color tape can be used to alert individuals with low vision of a change in the home environment
