Cabinet Handles

 

Description of the Device

Consider cabinet handle placement and direction for best access.  If cabinet handles are still hard to reach, looping rope or other household items through the handles can make them easier to access from a wheelchair, or for someone with limited mobility in the shoulder.  

Used to increase ease of access to kitchen cupboard for those who have trouble reaching for any reason.

Brief statement about temporary or permanent

Temporary, can be removed at any time if not used.

Cost

Low cost under $5 for rope or use household items.

Support Needs (caregiver)

May need assistance to tie on cabinets first time.

Contraindications for device use

May allow children to reach cabinets if too assistive loop too long.
